With under 100 days until the start of the 2010 World Cup FORMER SOCCER PLAYER PELE HOLDS THE FIFA WORLD CUP TROPHYin South Africa. A lot of England Fans are planning to stay at home instead of going to South Africa. The “Credit Crunch” has taken it’s toll on fans who were planning a trip out to South Africa, and to top it all local businesses in South Africa are bumping up their prices during the event. Some hotels are planning to charge 4 times their usual rate to “cash-in” on the football competition, and with growing flight costs,Cape Town stadium tour illustrating readiness 100 days to the 2010 FIFA World Cup who can blame people for staying home during the competition. Let me know what you think. Are the locals right to make a bit of extra cash or should it be regulated? Post your comments below:

Back in Time

I am currently “Doing the Family Tree” and whilst obtaining information from family members, the boxes started to come out of  lofts and basements, then the stories of “the good old days” when men were men and women did all the housework started. and before you know it your overcome by the amount of uncles and aunts you never knew existed..

Unknown, circa early 1900s?

The most fascinating thing for me was the photographs. Images from the past, a realisation that everyday life existed before you did, the clothes, the surroundings, the faces that look almost Alien in the dull tones of black & white and sepia. You could almost transport yourself into the images and only imagine what it would have been like to exist in that era.

I have been using Ancestry.com to research my family tree, the only thing I have had to teach myself is.. Not to wander off the path. when you are researching a particular person, it is very easy to get side-tracked and wander off in a different direction.

On one side of my family I have manage to track my ancestors to the 1700s, however on another side I cannot get past my Grandmother as she was born in Naples, Italy and her memories are fading along with time. The only way to pursue this is wait for the Italian census’s to be available online, or to write to the Italian authorities, which as I can’t speak da’lingo is a daunting prospect.

Anyway on with my tree I shall go and who knows what direction it will branch off to..( these puns are bad..)

Let me know what experiences you’ve had doing your family Tree, and if you have any advice please share. Thanks…

Now apparently there is a science to Dancing. According to research women are attracted to certain types of dancers the question is which one are you. This very funny clip from the Graham Norton show explains what it’s all about. Please post your comments and tell me what type of dancer you are, or if your a woman what type of dancer your man is?
